Novell has announced the release of openSUSE 10.3: “Novell today announced the availability of openSUSE 10.3, the newest version of the award-winning community Linux distribution. E Fedora:

Fedora 8 Release Schedule

Dopo il rilascio puntuale avvenuto oggi della Test 2 ecco la roadmap di Fedora 8, non vedo l’ora della release finale.

Dopo la presentazione di Fedora al grande web ho scaricato la versione live così per vedere a che livello è e se poteva entrare nelle mie preferenze, ho inserito il cd nel mio portatile e ho avuto uno schizzo e l’ho installata.

L’impressione è stata davvero buona, stabile,semplice, abbasatnza veloce e molto rigorosa ecco le prime cose che ho notato in Fed7:

1.  Installazione molto semplice, simile ad Ubuntu ma con il sistema di partizionamento più intuitivo grazie ad uno schema grafico (potrebbero aggiungerlo sulla prossima 7.10)
2. Introduzione al sistema con una bella schermata introduttiva su Fedora
3. Interfaccia azzeccata, preferisco il blu e il cielo stellato con le mongolfiere al mix tra arancione e marrone, davvero fine la schermata di login
4. Effetti desktop installati instantaneamente anche con la mia mobility Ati X300 (boh su Ubuntu la mia  X1300XT fa le bizze)
5. Menù ben organizzati e davvero comodi
6. Rigoroso ordine in tutti i particolari
7. Sicurezza grazie al firewall e SELinux
8. Hard disk secondari (quello di win:)) non montati automaticamente
9. Mancanza icona di spegnimento sulla barra (da aggiungere)
